Camp Murray Rules

Camp Murray Rules

The rules for most UU youth events are pretty easy and are encompassed by the "Big Four" listed below. For Camp Murray we have some additional rule-like text that also appears on the registration forms. That text is also reproduced below. Please be aware of and heed these enhancements to our community building process.yy

THE RULES:

1) Respect
-people, property, boundaries, the camp, opinions, choices, yourself, and
everything!

2) No Sex
-this means no sexual activity, don’t be exclusive, and no more than one person
under each blanket.

3) No Violence
-there’s no reason to hurt one another, and even pretending can be damaging, so
just don’t do it.

4) No Drugs
-this includes both drugs and alcohol.  Camp Murray is a substance free
environment, so, please, don’t compromise the camp by bringing any.

Youth Agreement to Rules (from the Youth Registrtion Form)

Alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, weapons, violence or sexual activity will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Use of drugs or medication (even over the counter) without prior notification and permission of the youth's parent will not be allowed. Youth is responsible for notifying an advisor when taking medication.

Any inappropriate, demeaning, derogatory or disrespectful behavior is unacceptable. Each individual in the community is expected and encouraged to show respect for every other individual, their belongings, Lake Murray Group Camp 3, and everything in it.

Every member of the community is empowered and encouraged to voice their opinions, objections or concerns at any time in regard to violations of Camp Murray rules. The spirit committee of Camp Murray will then take appropriate action.

Smoking Policy

Camp Murray will have a No Smoking policy for the duration of the camp. Violation of this policy will result in the confiscation of cigarettes, tobacco, lighters, etc. If further violations occur the spirit committee will take appropriate actions and the camper may be sent home early.

I have read, understand and agree to abide by the rules of Camp Murray 2008 and I understand that the consequences of failure to follow them could include my removal from the event. I also agree not to leave the set boundaries during the event. I will help to promote a positive and effective community.
